Junior Handling Seminar Saturday
Saturday conformation photos are coming!

Torrential rains at the Canfield shows makes departure difficult for many campers including ourselves!

The fairground's front end loader is on the job!

A quick tow ....  we say goodbye to our mud puddle! We are heading for home! .... or so we thought!!!

It's ALWAYS an
"aventura" when the Tapples travel!  :)))
360 Fitness after hours gives Evan a huge parking lot to ride his scooter while we wait for a wrecker.

SURPRISE SURPRISE! TWO sets of travel trailer wheel bearings burn up on this trip! (new record!)
SMOKIN' at our last toll booth on I-80! US 23, our highway home, is just ahead!
CRY as we crawl off the turnpike to park into the 360 Fitness parking lot.

A trip home tonight is not to be. The wheel bearings are gone on the front driver's side wheel.
Erica, Shayna & Evan play with the dogs & Aaron rides his scooter while we wait hours for a wrecker.

After waiting for two wreckers that never showed, finally a nice repair man with tools comes to our rescue.
Unfortunately, due to the damage done to our wheel, he is unable to install an extra hub we carry with as a spare.
A decision is made to remove the damaged tire & attempt to drive to Fowlerville on 3 wheels.

Waiting patiently for the repair is Erica Escalada & XXX - right Shayna Garrison & Ringo. Far right is Libby.

PIZZA DELIVERY! DINING IN!
We order Marco's Pizza delivered to our parking lot!
Finally --- 10pm Sunday --- On The Road Again!

$235 later, Amy white knuckles the rig pulling the travel trailer on 3 wheels @ 55 mph!
About 15 miles down the road, much to Amy's amazement, BILLOWING SMOKE pours
out  of the wheel on the opposite side! LO & BEHOLD -- A SECOND wheel BITES the DUST!
Stranded on US 23 (1.5 hours from home) at an exit in the middle of nowhere, we decide to
drive another 5 miles to Cabela's Sporting Goods in Dundee Michigan. Cabela's has a huge
RV camping lot where RVers are welcome to make themselves at home. We potty dogs at
midnight & prepare to hunker down for the night. Unfortunately our generator will not run,
we've used the last of our dog water & Erica lost her cell phone somewhere in this disaster.
It's an adventure!!!!

(Please pardon the large smudge in the middle of the camera lens :))
Man's work!
Once again, it's Grandpa Tom & Evan to the rescue! Tom drives to Dundee early Monday AM armed with tools!
Tom and Evan repack all of our wheels best they can with the parts available ... good enough to get us home!
The GOOD NEWS is --- Thanks to Tom & Evan, we have NEW HEAVY DUTY 8500# rated axels and huge new
tires that will be installed before our next  trip. This should spell the END to all of our bearing problems FOREVER!

We took the opportunity of our surprise "vacation" day to take Evan inside Cabela's.
He loves the fresh water aquariums and all of the stuffed big game animals!
After Cabela's, while Tom slaved, we enjoyed a nice walk to Bob Evan's for
breakfast. 1:00 pm & a turkey sandwich later for Tom, we are on the road again!
Tom tows the travel trailer with his truck leaving us in the white van headed
for home. We arrive home safely late Monday afternoon!
Thank you TOM for skipping work once again to bail us out!

On the road again!  Thank you Grampy!
