CONGRATULATIONS MARIA NEFF ON WINNING THE TOP DOG SHOWMANSHIP AWARD!!!This is Maria's last year competing at the Greenville County County Fair. Maria takes with her lots of top awards over the years & many good memories!

Maria has been working with two of her 4-H club members training them for dog showmanship. They made Maria proud by bringing home ribbons & trophies today!

Erika went out on her last year with a bang. She won Grand Champion market Cornish. And on Wednesday she auctioned them off at the livestock sale and she got $25 a pound for them!!! (Erika with one of her Champion Market Cornish….the $25 a pound Cornish!!)

Yes, that is TWENTY-FIVE DOLLARS PER POUND for 4 birds. Her pen weighed 11.8 pounds. She had he highest price per pound of anything in the entire sale. (Best in Show Buff Brahma Pullet.)

Also with her fancy chickens, she took Best in Show AND Reserve in Show youth with two beautiful cochins. And then in the open show she ended up taking Best in Show with a Buff Brahma pullet.(This is Versace….the Cochin we picked up at the airport in Birch Run this April! He’s fantastic. We’re going to show him at the Cochin National show in Frankenmuth on late October. He should do well.)

and JIM (yes, Jim!!!)….with his one and only chicken that he claims is his…..Jim took Reserve in Show with his black cochin hen Prada. This was Jim’s very first ever win with a chicken!! He’s so darn funny….just like a kid!!!(This is Prada…..Jim’s Reserve in Show Cochin Hen!! Her daughter took Best in Show last year!!)

And then, Erika won Poultry Showmanship, had Best Pigeon Display with her fancy Frillbacks, and……..BEST OVERALL POULTRY EXHIBITOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Candy (This is Angel….a Blue Cochin Hen. She was Best of Variety at the Cochin National Meet last year. Best in Show Open this year.)

We took Daisy to New Belgium Brewery in Fort Collins (Colorado)the other day.  She had such a great time there and got lots of attention.  You can actually take your pooch inside, which is lots of fun (she likes Fat Tire the best -- just kidding).  joanne Daisy has good taste, Joanne! The Fat Tire was Mother Thornapple's favorite beer when you took us for taste testing!

We had a Aussie special show in Finland in the beginning of Aug 2008. The judge was Sheila Polk. Judge Sheila Polk gave my Katalin X Jag puppie BIS- PUPPY !!!!!!! Gun Lake Tjo hoo "Thara."

And her brother Gun Lake Ripp Ripp Rapp "Rico" was second best puppie in the male class. I had hope you could see this puppies movement, Woooooow....

Greetings, Just a quick note about our show weekend. Rain finished his Rally Advanced title so he can add RA to his name. Oh that beautiful head. LOL! He also qualified for the OV (outstanding versatility) title due to all the different venues he has accomplished.  This is given by the working registry that I belong to.  So OV can be attached also We have one more we are going to go for in Rapid City in October.  A Herding Instinct Certification!!!!  YEAH  I do not ever find something like this so close and in combination with a breed show.  Cloud will be in Conformation and both boys I have entered in the HIC. The draw will be held October 1 so hopefully we will get in. I am soooo excited about this since if both boys do well then that says it all. They can be BEAUTIFUL and talented:)))))) Have A Good One, Betsy & Rain

Hi from Emily and Jasmine! It has been a while, so I thought you might like an update on how things are going here. The end of summer/beginning of school has been really busy. Jasmine (or Jazzy J as I sometimes call her...it seems appropriate) is growing like a weed and is one sweet, pretty girl! Lol, actually right now she is crawling through our pile of shoes hiding her bone inside one. She sure is a little spitfire! Never runs out of energy or curiosity. I am commuting to college and living at home this semester and next, so I have a lot more time to spend with Jasmine, and that's a good thing because she needs to be kept busy. She's my buddy, and this weekend I was gone and I really missed seeing her. Emily & Jasmine - of course.
