DOG SHOWS NEWS from Nova Scotia!
On July 24th, which is actually Mylie's first anniversary of living in Canada, at the Fredericton Kennel Club show
in New Brunswick, Canada, Mylie took best of breed and then went on to take herding group 4 handled by Collin!!
This was under judge Donna Cole. Mylie was the only class dog to take a group placing in the herding group. The
judge commented to Collin that she thought that Mylie had a beautiful sidegait and that she also loved her head.
On Saturday, July 25th, Mylie took best of breed once again under judge Denys Janssen. We are one point away
from a new champion!!! Sunday, July 26th Alice took best of breed under judge Rita Walker.

We did see a moose along side of the road on our way to the show grounds this morning!! This is the first time that
Collin saw a moose in the wild and only the second time for me. I told Collin that it was a sign that Mylie was going
to win today because you like moose so much.   Angela
WOW Angela! CONGRATULATIONS!
AND amazing that you saw a real live moose!
We have a guest room here named the moose room!
We have beautiful moose pieces given as gifts from friends around the world!

ALICE

Mylie (right) cools off after her big win!

AND a MOOSE on the way home!!!!  WOW!!!!

Gotta LOVE those Thornapple Aussies!

Taylor and Delilah also were invited to perform on the Porter County Dog Drill Team for the 2nd year.
They performed Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. The crowds loved the drill team. They also did
the Costume Contest, Rally-O, Games and Jump-Off Contest. Prizes were given to all the kids. Check
out Taylor and Delilah's Costumes! They were the "Bath-time Buddies!" Shower Caps, Bathrobes,
and Duckie Slippers! Taylor's Drill Team won the Dog Tag Team Relay Contest :-) Yeah!!!

Taylor also entered the Vet Science Project again this year and her poster board won too!! She got

Obedience Level 1-A - Placing Rated "A", Scoring 189/200 1st Place, Champion

100 Points Available,
Showmanship - 200 points Available (only the first won level is counted), and of Obedience - 200 points
available, are all added together. The highest possible being 500 points

Luke's combined scores of 100 (Written Test) + 200 (Showmanship) + 189 (Obedience) = 489

489 out of a possible 500 points earned Luke and Oz........
2009 Porter County Grand Champion Dog!!!

This was Luke's very first year in Fair!!! What a way to start! Even though Oz is 6 years old, he has never before
been trained in
Obedience or Showmanship! Luke is the one who has worked with him...(with a lot of help from sister Taylor.)
We are so proud of both Taylor and Luke and of Delilah and Oz!!!!

We are also taking the dogs to State Fair in Indianapolis, Indiana, this year. We show in August on the 22nd & 23rd.
It will be pretty tough!!! At least the kids get to show at their age level there! Taylor will be in Intermediate and Luke
will be in Novice. We know we will have LOTS of fun, and maybe we will even get to report back some good news!!! WE HOPE!!!
CONGRATULATIONS Taylor & Luke! We are VERY PROUD of you!
Good luck at the State Fair!
