August 17th *** IVORY ISLE NEWS from Amanda Hutchinson in California!
We had a great weekend after missing the first two days of the show, our home grown
pup, Venti (Minnie X Cruzan, Thornapple's Single Barrel) showed his little paws off and
picked up a Best of Breed Puppy and a Group One in the Puppy Herding Group. I was very
pleased with how he behaved and he showed awesome. We lost out in the Best in Show Puppy
but I was happy that he moved well and held his stand even with the cheering! Unfortunately
the good behavior ended after his run in Best In Show and he turned into his big puppy self
today at the show but that's puppies for ya :) Amanda
CONGRATULATIONS AMANDA!

*** A PUPPY UPDATE from Nikki Hengy ***
The blue beauties are 11 weeks old and just keep looking better and
better! I look at these babies and I'm just amazed at them, and a
little saddened that it will be Misty's last litter. She has been an
absolutely wonderful mother, as she has been in all things she does in
life. I have two really nice boys available. They are a little different
from each other, but very complimentary and MOVE, MOVE, MOVE - they
surely do! Both Dior and Versace should do some real ring sweeping,
and both boys have personalities to die for. Of course, all puppies in
the litter cleared their CERF eye exams, have started conformation
leash training, good on tables, good with stacking, great with dryers,
very close to completely house-broke and are started on vaccines/
interceptor. On a side note, I'm leaving for Chicago on Thursday, to visit
the campus and house hunt. I'm so excited (and nervous!) - wish me luck
in house-hunting! Anyone on the List have a house to rent that will take
3 well-behaved dogs?! For a glimpse of virtual puppy breath, please visit my website

and click on the litters tab (or the Cruzan x Misty puppies are here).
Best wishes, Nikki

Sue Crisman lends Evan an arm to nap on during breed judging on Thursday.
Evan says thank you Sue!  Evan loves Sue's " the boys" as he calls them.
Taylor's brothers - Matt & Luke - are Evan's BEST dog show buddies!
Friday night Evan awoke at 2am to ask his Mi-Ma ... Where are the boys, Mi-Ma?
Evan then answered his own question ... oh they are sleeping ... they will come when the sun comes up!

Thank you Bill Burns & Carolyn Zernick for repacking wheel bearings on the travel trailer wheel!
No trip would be complete without a breakdown!  Our travel trailer wheel brake & bearings burned
up on our way to Muncie Indiana.  Aaron called a wrecker for us from home. The wrecker man
took our wheel off & told us it would be a 24 hour wait for parts.  No 24 hour wait for us!
Because of our experience with blown tires & bearing failures in trips past, we knew we could
make it the final 40 miles to Muncie on 1 tire on the side that blew.  Shayna and Mother T took
the back roads to Muncie eventually finding our way to the campground after our Garmin decided not
to help!  Handlers greeted us at the gate to ask "do you know you are missing a tire?"  lol!
Thank you to our very good friends, Bill & Carolyn, for removing the charred brake and bearings.
Thank you for running all over town shopping for parts and for putting our wheel back together
in time for our trip home on Sunday!  We made it home safe & sound!
Bill & Carolyn rock!

U-AG1 CH Thornapple End Of The Rainbow CD RN CGC ThD VCCX

Hi Ladies,
Well we had quite a weekend.  I was hoping to attain two new titles but will be happy with one new one:)))
Rain was a dynamo in agility which messed up our obedience runs a bit since we were running back to back
agility and obedience. 4 each day.  He sometimes gave me a look as if to say what do you want me to do run
out ahead or stay close:)))))  He was probably thinking make up your mind silly human. LOL
So our BEAUTIFUL BOY and THE LOVE  of my life in the K9 department is now:
U-AG1, CH Thornapple End of the Rainbow CD, RN, CGC, ThD, VCCX.   I think I got them all. But hopefully will
add his RA in September. So he has quite a variety of alphabet to attest to our wonderful, versatile aussies
and of course especially THORNAPPLE AUSSIES!!!!!! The pictures were taken in Brookings, SD at McCrory Gardens.
Ellen you would have thought you were in a little bit of heaven. The foliage, flowers and WONDERFUL smell of pine
trees was something to behold.  Rain has his new title medallion he won on. Betsy
WAY TO GO RAIN & BETSY!!!!!   SUPER CONGRATS ON AN AWESOME WEEKEND!

GOOD NEWS FROM SWEDEN *** AUGUST 10th!

Major & Boom *** August 10th

It's with heavy hearts to tell you that we said our goodbye's to Molly today.
For 14 1/2 years, she was the best companion anyone could have.  We actually
thought she'd talk at any minute.  She sure loved her toys and always had one with
her; sometimes several toys. Our life was enriched so much and we'll miss her and love
her forever. She was such a funny little girl. jim, joanne, and daisy
Dear Jim, Joanne & Daisy, Our deepest sympathy go out to you on the loss of your special girl Miss Molly.
We are grateful for time we were privileged to spend with Molly when we stayed with you Summer of 2007
& again when you opened your Fort Collins home to us for the 2008 USASA Nationals Specialty. We will never
forget Molly visiting us at the National's show site. Molly was very proud of Daisy's big show ring debut -
10 plus Veterans!  Our hearts ache for you. Know that Miss Molly was loved by all of the Thornapples.
She will be missed.  Love, Amy & Ellen

Thornapple Mercury Hotshot "Jackson" * Ruler of his kingdom!
We bought an ATV not long ago.  The Royal Hotshot has decided that he'd rather check cattle from the back of the ATV  than run
next to it and risk overexertion.  Every time he hears the engine turn over he comes running and jumps on the back.  Silly dog.

SVCH Next Generation Daizy Blue "Inka" whelped her puppies with Boom tonight 8/08/08.
She has 8 puppies. There are 6 males and 2 females.  It thunderstormed the whole night when she whelped.
All the puppies have level of color and look nice. Some of them have short tails. Charming. Ann Loice
These beautiful babies are sired by Ch Thornapple Dr Thunder who resides in Sweden with Anna-Lena & Niklas Munkvall of Easy Aussies.
