and makes the cut in the Herding group 2 of the 4 days.  He is showing well and loving all his new friends.

Thornapple Like A Rock "Chevy" *** September 10, 2008 *** BIRTHDAY BOY!
Can you believe our boy is 12 years old today??!! And let me tell you ... we are going to celebrate tonight!
Chevy's birthday is DEFINITELY worth celebrating!   just cannot believe he is 12 years old. what an amazing
boy he is!  I know all of your dogs are special to you, but I believe Chevy is one in a million. He truly is special
and I cannot imagine my life without him. He is my angel ... a gift from God.  It is because of you that he is by
my side.  I will never be able to thank you enough for such a wonderful boy.  I don't know where I would be if
not for Chevy.  Thank you for breeding such a wonderful boy.  I love him with all of my heart.

Fanciers; I'm pleased to report the author of Michigan HB 6395, Representative
Bill Caul, has announced that the bill will be withdrawn. Staff members said they
were surprised with the negative reaction to the proposal...... This bill was
introduced on September 3, 2008. This proposal would require anyone
who sells or OFFERS to sell more than two cats/dogs OR more than ONE
litter within any 12 month period to obtain a Pet Seller License from County
Animal Control and comply with facility standards. Thank you to all those who

MICHIGAN ALERT!!!!!!  Thursday, September 04, 2008

Yesterday, Representative Bill Caul of Mt. Pleasant introduced Michigan
House Bill 6395, which proposes to strictly regulate virtually all
responsible dog breeders. It is imperative that all concerned
responsible dog breeders in Michigan contact the members of the House
Agriculture Committee, which currently has cognizance of the bill, and
their elected Representatives and express their vehement opposition to
this bill.

The American Kennel Club opposes the concept of breeding permits,
breeding bans, or mandatory spay/neuter of purebred dogs. Instead, we
support reasonable and enforceable laws that protect the welfare and
health of purebred dogs and do not restrict the rights of breeders and
owners who take their responsibilities seriously.

If adopted, HB 6395 would:

* Define anyone who sells or offers for sale more than two dogs per
year, or more than one litter of dogs per year, as a "pet seller."
* Mandate that those who qualify as pet sellers to acquire an
annual pet seller license from their county animal control shelter at a
cost of $200/year.
* Require an applicant for a pet seller license to submit his or
her fingerprints with a license application for a criminal history and
FBI background check.
* Give discretion to county animal control shelters to deny
applications for pet seller licenses, regardless of outcome of
background investigation.
* Call for pet sellers to comply with administrative rules
regarding housing that will be financially detrimental to responsible
breeders who operate out of their homes.

WHAT YOU CAN DO:

Michigan residents should contact the members of the House Agriculture
Committee listed below and their elected Representatives and express
their strong opposition to this onerous legislation.

Greetings, Just a quick note about our show weekend. Rain finished his Rally Advanced title so he can add RA to his name.
The picture is a little dark but the building has such a high ceiling and darker walls.  His title ribbon is the one on his collar. 
The string attached was to small for his head.  Oh that beautiful head.  LOL! He also qualified for the OV (outstanding versatility) title
 due to all the different venues he has accomplished.  This is given by the working registry that I belong to.  So OV can be attached also.

 We have one more we are going to go for in Rapid City in October.  A Herding Instinct Certification!!!!  YEAH  I do not ever find something
 like this so close and in combination with a breed show.  Cloud will be in Conformation and both boys I have entered in the HIC.  The draw
 will be held October 1 so hopefully we will get in. I am soooo excited about this since if both boys do well then that says it all.

September 9th **** Candy & her hubby, Jim, stopped by the kennel after tail docking with Dr. Miller,
to show Granny T Maggie's puppies.  Granny T LOVED the puppies and declares them perfect!

And GOOD NEWS FROM CHILE!!!  Gi Gi has 10 new babies in Chile! 10 must be a magic number!
Hi Ellen & Amy, I am happy to tell you that we have 10 gorgeous, healthy puppies.
Gi Gi is a really good mother.  She is very sweet & protective.  There are 5 black tri
females, 1 black tri male, 2 red tri females & 2 red tri males.  Birthing started at 3am
this morning and the last puppy was born at 7am.  The first 5 puppies were black and
the last 4 were red.  Hugs, Ale & Gi Gi  PS Gaspar too!
CONGRATULATIONS ALE & GASPAR ON AN OUTSTANDING LITTER!

Gi Gi is one of our two girls who was rescued in the Michigan animal cruelty raid this past summer.
